Massapequa Stabbing Horror: Long Island Man Fatally Stabbed and Dies in Father’s Arms After Alleged Pre-Arranged Hookup Turns Deadly
A 28-year-old Long Island man died in a tragic and violent incident in Massapequa early Monday, after what investigators described as a pre-arranged late-night meeting that ended in a fatal stabbing inside his basement apartment.
Authorities said the victim, Robert Carragher, was allegedly attacked by 22-year-old Kristen Sculley, who now faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the case. Police believe Sculley entered the basement residence during the night before the deadly confrontation occurred.

Investigators described the incident as a shocking escalation between two individuals who were already familiar with each other. According to police, the meeting had been arranged in advance, but quickly turned deadly.
Nassau County Police Detective Lt. George Darienzo explained the nature of their relationship and the circumstances leading up to the incident, stating:
“We believe that this female individual made an arrangement,” Nassau County Police Detective Lt. George Darienzo told reporters. “She was an acquaintance of our victim, who made an arrangement to get together that evening.
“The location of the stabbing is initially believed to be in the bedroom at that location,” Darienzo said. “The individual died in his father’s arms. No family should ever have to bear witness to the sudden killing of their son.”
Police said the victim was stabbed with a pocket knife after what they believe was an argument in the home. Investigators added that the two had known each other for several years and had what was described as a friendship.
Emergency responders were called to the Beaumont Avenue residence around 1:30 a.m., where they encountered a disturbing scene. Despite his injuries, the victim reportedly tried to reach his parents for help.
“He climbed the stairs to seek the assistance of his mother, screaming,” Darienzo said. “His mother and father came to his aid. They attempted to control that bleeding in the kitchen. At that point their son became unresponsive.”
Police also noted there was evidence suggesting possible drug use at the scene, although no substances were ultimately recovered.
Sculley was later arraigned in Hempstead court on a second-degree murder charge and ordered held without bail at the Nassau County jail as the investigation continues.
